Updated May 28, 2019 07:45:25A water heater that has failed or had parts that have corroded can cause the water in your home to become too hot.
A maintenance service provider or the manufacturer can then replace parts and the water heater will still run but it may need to be shut off.
To see if your heater is in danger of failure or if you have any concerns contact your local water company.
What to doIf you have a faulty water heater, you can contact your water company, ask them to send you replacement parts or to send a new water heater if it’s not working properly.
If you don’t want to contact your company you can still check for signs of water damage in your water meter.
