Google News article Google has launched a new service that offers customers discounts on new cars they buy online.
The new service, called DriveMatic, offers customers a discount on new or used cars up to 50 per cent when they’re bought online, via a system that looks for the most popular deals.
Google says it has seen “a surge in car purchases” online since it launched DriveMate earlier this year.
DrivingMatic is a product of Google, but has the backing of car brands like Mercedes, BMW, Porsche and Audi.
The company’s founders hope to bring a better experience to customers, according to a post on DriveMatoric’s website.
“We’ve seen an enormous amount of traffic to our new DriveMacy service, and we’re excited to be partnering with them,” the company wrote.
“Our goal is to make this the most valuable car shopping experience for customers across the globe.”
DriveMate works by taking a list of the most frequently searched keywords in the UK, and comparing them with the price of new or pre-owned cars.
For cars bought online by a customer, they’ll get a discount of up to $50.
For cars that are bought locally, the discount drops to $25.
The website offers other discounts, too, such as a 25 per cent discount on cars bought from a garage.
DriveMatic will be available to users in Australia and New Zealand on Thursday.
The car shopping app DriveMates was introduced in 2013 and was acquired by Google in 2015 for $1.5 billion.
